Expression of Interest - Artists & Creative Practitioners

Cairns Festival 2024 will run from Friday 23 August - Sunday 1 September.

Annually the Cairns Festival seeks to deliver a vibrant, progressive and collaborative arts and cultural festival featuring local and national talent and ideas. In particular, the Cairns Festival program has a focus on presenting local, original content that provides new experiences for our audience. This is a curated event with stages on the Esplanade, Court House, Munro Martin Parklands, Tanks Arts Centre and Carnival on Collins.

The Brief

Our community has an insatiable appetite for creative excellence, and we want to enhance the festival menu with work from a diverse range of artists and creative practitioners that are thirsty to offer something fresh, bold, original, or transformative. Through arts and culture, we want to showcase and celebrate unique stories that are wrapped in authenticity and reflective of our people, lifestyle and environment. We want to put front and centre artists with amazing skills in music, dance, visual arts, comedy, circus, cabaret, theatre, puppetry, projection, film, literature, workshops, roving, …everything!
