ACE volunteers

The Animal Care and Education Centre cares for hundreds cats and dogs each year. While Council is dedicated to caring for these animals, the work of volunteers in providing additional exercise, affection and training will increase pet wellbeing and facilitate rehoming.

ACE is a working shelter and comes with its challenges. With our tropical weather and large number of pets to care for, it can be wet, hot and noisy.

You will also need to be comfortable with everything that goes in (and comes out) of cats and dogs.

But there are plenty of rewards:

Learn valuable skills working with a wide variety of dogs of different breeds, ages and personalities
Build social connections by meeting like-minded people who love cats and dogs
